Switch from MoeGo or import your clients from a CSV file
From MoeGo
In Groomi, the Import page has a MoeGo mode that reads the client list exported from MoeGo. Accepted files: CSV, TSV, TXT, XLSX and XLS.
What is brought over
- Clients: last and first name, email, phones, address, notes, marketing email consent, preferred frequency and day of the week.
- Each client’s pets, with their breed.
- The preferred groomer, when they have the same name as a groomer already set up in Groomi.
- The preferred business, referral source and MoeGo tags, added to the client’s notes.
Breeds are recognized even when the spelling differs slightly (for example “Doberman” and “Dobermann”); an unknown breed is added to your list. A client who already exists in Groomi with the same first and last name is not created twice.
From other software, with a CSV file
Export your clients and pets to CSV, then match each column of your file to a Groomi field. A preview shows the result before the import, and file templates are provided.
- Clients: last name, first name, phone, email, address, city, province, postal code, notes.
- Pets: client’s last and first name, pet name, breed, species, sex, birth date, weight, colour, particulars, allergies, notes.
Switching in three steps
Export
Download the client list from your current software (MoeGo export or CSV).
Import
In Groomi, open Import, choose MoeGo or CSV mode and check the preview.
Finish
Add your groomers, services and upcoming appointments, then turn on reminders.
Questions about importing
Which files can I import?
For MoeGo: CSV, TSV, TXT, XLSX or XLS. For other software: a CSV file whose columns you match to Groomi’s fields.
What happens if a client already exists?
A client with the same first and last name already in Groomi is skipped, to avoid duplicates.
Are MoeGo breeds recognized?
Yes, including common spelling variants. A breed Groomi does not know is added to your breed list.
Are pets imported with their clients?
Yes. Each pet is linked to its client, with its breed.
Can I try the import during the trial?
