Mobile grooming software
Turning on mobile mode
Mobile mode is turned on in the salon settings. There you set:
- the base fee and the per-kilometre rate;
- your departure address, and other addresses if you sometimes leave from elsewhere.
Addresses are entered with Google’s address suggestions. Distances and drive times come from Google Maps.
Travel fees per client
Each client has their own travel fee mode:
- Default: the salon’s base fee plus the distance times the per-kilometre rate, rounded to the cent.
- Fixed amount: the same amount every visit, whatever the drive.
- Per kilometre: based on the actual distance.
- Free: no fee, for example for a neighbour.
The mobile appointment in the calendar
A mobile appointment keeps the address, distance, drive time, fees and access instructions (door code, parking). A travel buffer shows before and after the appointment in the calendar; you can stretch or shorten it.
Chained route
An option, off by default, calculates each stop’s fee and buffer from the previous stop instead of from your departure point. After a gap of 60 minutes or more between two stops, the calculation starts again from your departure address. Two stops in a row at the same address cost nothing in travel. The buffer follows the drive time, rounded to 5 minutes, between 5 and 120 minutes. An amount you changed yourself is never overwritten.
Several departure addresses
Save several addresses (home, shop, daycare) and choose the one an appointment leaves from.
The map of the day’s route
The “Mobile route of the day” map shows numbered stops on a Google map, groomer by groomer. Drag a stop to change the order: Groomi shows the recalculated distances before you apply the new order. The “Open in Google Maps” button starts navigation.
An arrival window in the reminder
On the road, an exact time is rarely kept. A reminder option replaces the time with a window centred on the appointment, for example “arriving between 8:45 and 9:15” for 9:00. The width is 30 minutes by default and can be set from 10 to 180 minutes. The option stays off until you turn it on.
Questions about mobile grooming
How does Groomi calculate travel fees?
Based on the mode set for the client: free, a fixed amount, or a base fee plus the distance times your per-kilometre rate, rounded to the cent. Distance comes from Google Maps.
Can I leave from an address other than the salon?
Yes. Save several departure addresses and choose the one that applies to an appointment.
Does the client see an exact time or a time range?
Your choice. With the arrival window option, the reminder gives a range (30 minutes by default, from 10 to 180 minutes) centred on the appointment time.
Do travel fees show on the invoice?
Yes, as a separate line next to the service and surcharges. On a chained route, each stop has its own fee line.
Can a salon also do mobile grooming?
Yes. Mobile mode adds to the salon calendar: salon and in-home appointments sit side by side, and the fee mode is set client by client.
